The Last Emperor Chinese Ballet Sydney Tickets & Dates

Based on a true story of China’s Last Emperor, Pu Yi whom born behind the gates of the Forbidden City was bestowed Emperor of China.    During the tumultuous period of the early Chinese Republic, Pu Yi was ousted and exiled.  He was later returned to China as a puppet emperor Manchukuo under the Japanese rule.  Once married to The Empress Wan Rong, Pu Yi later married a civilian Li Shuxian and lived his life in China as an ordinary civilian under Mao Zedong’s rule until his death in 1967.

His life was astonishing and is now interpreted and expressed through LiaoNing Chinese Ballet’s, ‘The Last Emperor’.  This Ballet Company has contributed to Chinese Ballet since 1980 performing Swan Lake, Le Corsaire, La Fille mal gardee, Don Quixote, The Nutcracker, Cinderella, Giselle, Raymonda and Neapolitan.
